S1 Homework

Madame McGuffin’s classes should use the vocabulary list to complete the tasks on www.pearsonactivelearn.com on the topic School. The password is Forfar2021 and you click on ‘Tasks’ the top of the page. If you have forgotten your username, please come and ask me!

Broad General Education S1-S3

During their time in S1 Modern Languages, all pupils will complete a minimum of three units of work on: My world; School; Free time.  Pupils will undertake four assessments on Reading, Listening, Talking and Writing.

In S2 Modern Languages, all pupils will complete a minimum of three units of work as follows: Home Area; Holidays; Media. Pupils will again undertake four assessments on Reading, Listening, Talking and Writing.

During their time in S3 Modern Languages, all pupils will experience relevant and coherent units of work based upon the SQA Award Languages for Life and Work. They will be given the opportunity to undertake this Award by completing the following units and assessments: Languages for Life (Listening and Talking); Languages for Work (Reading and Talking); Employability (Writing); Life as a Teenager (No SQA assessment required).

To supplement class work, pupils should also be set regular homework in accordance with the Departmental Homework Policy. This may include short vocabulary tests on topics covered in class.

All pupils have the opportunity to practise their language skills by attending film screenings in the modern language studied at the DCA in Dundee, and attending the Multilingual Debate at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
