The dragon left us another letter this morning.
He thanked us for the letters we wrote to him yesterday.
He had left us a table of books, some Jack and the Beanstalk puppets, some masks and a CD to listen to!
We read one of the books – “Jack and the Bean Pie.” In this book, the giant prefers to eat the tasty bean pies Jack makes rather than people. Most of the Superstars preferred this version to the original!
We worked with our talking partners to discuss the similarities and differences between the two books. We organised the information into a Venn diagram on the whiteboard.
In our ICT lesson, we made posters advertising Jack’s cow or the bean pies for sale. We had to open either the “cow” or “pie” document in Publisher, insert a picture from clipart and change the font and size and colour of the text. Mrs Stewart is really pleased with the way we are becoming much more independent in using and applying our computer skills.
Just before home time, some of the boys gave us an impromptu performance of “Jack and the Beanstalk” using the roleplay masks. It was very good!
I wonder what we will get up to tomorrow…
I think it is very exciting that a dragon has visited your school, but I do hope he is a friendly dragon!
We hope so too Mrs Clarke!!!
We liked your quest to get all the dragon’s letters. We went on a quest to get a jewel.

We are not sure Frazer and Brynley, but he certainly likes visiting us!
We don’t know his name. Do you think we should give him one? He signs all his letters as the “friendly dragon.”
Ooooh! That sounds exciting. Did you find the jewel?
