Marching Band

We are learning about sound in our science lessons. We have been experimenting with loud and quiet sounds and learning about volume and pitch.

Today, Mrs Stewart gave us some pictures of musical instruments and we had to sort them into groups. She didn’t give us any clues but told us there were four groups. Being very clever, we all managed to work out that we sorted the groups depending on how the instruments were played.

We had lots of fun experimenting with different instruments. We decided we would be a marching band and went outside and marched around the school playing our instruments!! Unfortunately, the camera decided not to work so we can’t show you our pictures.

We had a look at this great website, from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, which teaches you about different parts of the orchestra and has lots of different musical activities. We especially liked the Performalator. We are all going to try it out when we are next in the computer room.

The Singing Superstars

Yesterday, we were singing some songs and the girls in the class wanted to share this one with you. What a class of super singers I have this year.
