Fireworks

Our finished display

Today we worked together to create a background for a class art project.

We had to cover the stage with lots of newspaper before we taped a big bit of black paper to the floor. We soaked pieces of kitchen towel in watered down bright paint and took turns throwing it at the black paper to create a splatter effect. The paper towels look like firework explosions.

We finished it off by using paintbrushes dipped in the paint again to add more splatter. We are going to make firework rockets in class tomorrow to add to our lovely background.

All finished!

Halloween Fun (Part 2)

Doing our scary walking on the way to the gym!

We had a class Halloween party on Friday.

We were not able to have one on Wednesday as we were at the cinema. The party was also a reward for our excellent behaviour over the past few weeks.

We were all happy because we got to wear our Halloween costumes again! We played some games in the gym hall, had a dance then went back to the classroom for some juice and snacks. After that we dooked for apples and then it was time to go home. We all got a wee goody bag on the way out from Mrs Stewart.

Many thanks to Mrs Bailey for giving up her afternoon to help us with our party, and to Mrs Campbell for our Halloween cake and sweeties.

Having a boogie!

Got one!

Cinema Visit

On the bus to Dundee.

Last Wednesday we went to the cinema at Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre. We were there to see a series of short animation films, which we are hoping to use to support our work with “Keys to Literacy.”

We all enjoyed our afternoon and had fun afterwards discussing what had been our favourite film.

Many thanks to Carly’s and Kristin’s mums for accompanying us on our trip.

Getting comfy in our seats.
