Week Beginning 5.12.16
Reading – The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.
Maths
C – Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s
L – 7+4=11, 8+4=12, 9+4=13 and 8+3=11, 9+3=12
I – Halving
C – Division by grouping in 2s, 5s and 10s
Our focus for other maths work this week is division.
French – This week we will revise the numbers to 20.

dix-neuf, vingt.
Homework – Our spelling pattern this week is oa. Please write each word 3 times and choose 2 words and write a sentence with each. Spelling test will be on Friday this week so homework should be completed by then. Some of the children have an extra spelling challenge again in their homework book.

Topic – Our Egyptian topic is still carrying on but some of our topic time is now being taken up with Christmas rehearsals. Last week the children were finishing off lots of their topic work and putting together an Ancient Egypt dictionary to help them remember the meanings of some of the words we have been finding out about.
Pupil of the Week – 2.12.16
Well done to Emma, our pupil of the week this week. She has been trying her best in all classroom activities and doing some fantastic spelling.

Reading – The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday. Thursday’s book will not be read in school, but can be read at home. We have another visit to Kincorth library booked for our reading time on Thursday.

Pupil of the Week – 25.11.16
This week’s pupil of the week is Andrew. He did some excellent reading in our assembly. Well done Andrew.
Week beginning 21.11.16
This will be a busy week for P3 as we will be getting prepared for our class assembly on Friday and preparations are also underway for the Christmas concert. The children all have a copy of the song words home with them.
Much of our work this week will be assembly related, involving reading, talking, listening, art work and sharing what we have learned about the Ancient Egyptians.

Topic – Last week the children were busy finishing their falcon necklaces to wear for our assembly. We also started to make Pharaoh headdresses.

Topic – Last week the children found out about mummification. We found out that different organs from the body were put in canopic jars, each with a different head.
We also started to make Ancient Egyptian necklaces with a falcon – the sun god Ra.
We used a painted paper plate for the wings, then stuck on straws for decoration.
Pupil of the Week – 11.11.16
Our pupil of the week is Abi. She has been a really good helper and has been organising, sorting and tidying the classroom. Well done Abi.
