Homework – Spelling and reading homework will continue this week. Spelling words will be given home on Monday and the book should be returned to school on Friday this week.  Our spelling pattern is aw as in saw and draw. Please write each word 3 times and choose 2 words and write a sentence with each. Spelling test will be on Friday so homework should be completed by then.

Our focus for other maths work this week will be symmetry. The children will be identifying symmetrical objects, drawing the line of symmetry and completing symmetrical patterns.

C – addition 2 digit number add 1                    28+1=29

Our focus for other maths work this week will be coordinates. The children will be drawing things in the correct position on a grid and writing the coordinates of pictures on a grid.

This week we have an SSPCA talk on Monday.

We have a short school week this week and next as we have the September holiday weekend. School is closed on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th September.

Our focus for other maths work has been shape and we will continue with it this week. The children have been learning about 3D shapes including their names and their properties. How many faces, vertices or edges.

C – multiplication by repeated addition    4×3 is 3+3+3+3

Our focus for other maths work has been shape and we will continue with it this week. The children have been learning about 2D shapes and that a pentagon has 5 sides, a hexagon has 6 sides and an octagon has 8 sides. This week we will be learning about 3D shapes.

Week Beginning 4.9.17

This Friday we have our production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe for the children in the hall at 1.30pm.

Miss Murray, a student teacher started working with P3 last week and will be with us until the end of September.
