ROSNEATH’S ELECTION FEVER!

P6/7 at Rosneath held their Team Captain Election on MONDAY 7TH OCTOBER. The children had worked very hard on their individual campaigns and Jackie Baillie, MSP kindly came to school to watch the Election process from START to FINISH. Jackie commented very positively throughout the morning. The whole school was involved in the process. Some Candidates made a grand entrance to music, one had a trumpet fanfare, one had a drum roll! Then the ALL IMPORTANT campaign speeches.

Ellie’s speech was very lively (dancing was included and Jackie said she might adopt this approach in her next campaign!!). Each child went to our special Voting Booths and secretly marked the “X” in the box on their Ballot Paper. Then they placed it in the Ballot Box. The Presiding Officers kept an eye on proceedings. Election Assistants and Polling Clerks took care of our Electoral Register making sure every single pupil got the chance to vote. They were also responsible for counting the votes assisted by Jackie.
Such anticipation………..and then the results! Mixed emotions……….many congratulations to our newly elected Team Captains and a great BIG well done to ALL children who put themselves forward.
