The children in P5-7 at Furnace gave a presentation of the work they had been covering on their inter-disciplinary topic on the Rainforest to friends and family this week. Some of the children explained to all who came along about the animals and plants that were on their wall display explaining about the different layers of the Rainforest.

After a break, where everyone enjoyed smoothies made with fruits from the rainforest and tasted chocolate, coconut and a variety of nuts, others in the class gave PowerPoint presentations highlighting the problems of deforestation.

The children finished off their presentation by singing some of the songs they had learned when we worked with Scottish Opera in February. All were very impressed with the children’s knowledge and the amount of work and effort they had put into their presentation.
