Hermitage Primary School has qualified for the Scottish National Finals at Toryglen Football Centre. The team under Mr. Henry, having previously progressed from the West Regional Qualifiers last November, made the journey to Toryglen on Wednesday. They made the journey to Glasgow knowing that they faced some stiff competition. They were to play against the best teams from the West of Scotland, hoping to grab their opportunity to compete against the best teams in Scotland.
In their first match the boys managed to secure a 1-0 victory against Bargeddie Primary School. Following this they managed to secure a 2-2 draw against St.Ninians Primary despite initially falling behind in the match. Their last game proved to be the decider, knowing that a draw would not be enough to progress to the finals. The boys managed to find an extra gear and they went on to beat Our Lady of The Missions Primary 2-0. The boys managed to secure 7 points from a possible 9 and so go through as deserving finalists.
From what started as hundreds of schools, they are now into the last 8 teams in Scotland and are the only team left to represent Argyll and Bute. The finals will now take place on the 22nd of April at 1:00pm at Toryglen.
Come on boys! You can do it!
Well done Hermitage. We hope you do well in April. Best of luck from the Rosneath Primary School team.
