Primary Four pupils at John Logie Baird Primary School recently enjoyed learning about many aspects of the “50’s and 60’s”. They were very keen to share their learning with the rest of the school and their parents so they decided to hold an assembly which would take their audience on an alphabetical journey through the 50’s and 60’s. The children worked very hard to create a script and many exciting props for their assembly which featured many special “guests” such as Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Neil Armstrong, President JFK and Mary Quant to name a few.
The audience were very impressed with the children’s singing and dancing in their varied costumes along to some very popular songs from the 50’s and 60’s. During the dress rehearsal for their assembly they gave Primary 6 an opportunity to peer assess their performance. They took on board the evaluations from Primary 6 and during reflection after their assembly it was evident that the children felt they had been successful at making many improvements.
That looks fantastic – well done to all involved!
Thank you Marianne, the children really loved thier topic and the assembly was a fun way to finish it off!
