Maths Week at Southend Primary School.

At Southend Primary we have been learning to improve our mental agility recall. This special week was a chance for children and teachers to showcase the creative and innovative ways of making maths count.
We used Numicon to help us learn our times tables and to create number bonds and stories.

We used Numicon to create analogue clocks and to convert times from analogue to digital.

In our Pre 5 Unit, children demonstrated their understanding of weight by weighing real vegetables from their farm shop, parents and grandparents shared the learning by counting out the correct money to pay for items on sale.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the extra focus on maths during maths week and in particular using the many different resources to explore maths.
