Many parents joined us to experience the learning environment that their child enjoys at nursery. With a focus on ‘skills for life’ parents joined their children as architects and builders making a fantastic den. They could show off their cooking skills while making gingerbread men in the muddy kitchen or be a teacher, author or musician for the day while exploring natural materials to make some fantastic story stones and instruments for our music and literacy area. In the cosy shed the children enjoyed choosing stories to listen to.

Parents participated by reading some stories and this introduced a sponsored listen event that one of our parents has organised to take place during the October break.

Each area had a visible link to both the Curriculum and Developmental Milestones to highlight the wealth of learning possibilities available through every play scenario.
