Last Week Strone Primary School held it’s annual Health Week. Amongst the activities on Monday was a “Ready, Steady Soup Challenge” where children had a morning to come up with a recipe, as well as prepare, cook and advertise their soup in time for a full school lunch to which family and friends were invited. A big thank-you to Morrisons and CO-OP in Dunoon, and the Walled Garden at Ardentinny for generous donations of fresh ingredients.
On Tuesday we had our very successful Cowal Schools Golf Tournament at Blairmore and Strone Golf Club. We also organised a coffee afternoon for the local community and had great fun playing bingo together and entertaining folk with our singing and our very own Duncan Orr on the bagpipes! On Wednesday our P4-7 children made the heroic climb to the top of Strone Hill whilst our P1-3’s climbed part of the way with us and then went on their own adventure to Graham’s Point. We all had lots of wet, soggy fun!
Throughout the week were a mixture of various workshops including input from the Police, Community Health Nurses and Dental Health, Blue Cross for Pets, Zumba fitness and Yoga. A great week was had by all!
