This term pupils at Strone Primary are studying Polar Regions as their Interdisciplinary Topic. As part of the experience they celebrated International Polar Bear Day! To help raise awareness of the effects of Global Warming and make a small difference to saving energy, the heating was turned down and children came to school dressed for a Polar Day, in fleeces and polar onesies.
Families and friends were invited for a Polar lunch with the children and then stayed to enjoy an afternoon of arctic themed activities. As part of an ongoing commitment to supporting charities, the children have raised funds to adopt our very own Polar Bear, which they are very excited about. The wee ones however, aren’t quite sure whether it would be happy living at school all the time!
