Burns Supper at Kirn Primary

Kirn PS Burns Supper 1Today Kirn Primary School’s P7 pupils celebrated the birth of Scotland’s most famous poet by hosting a Burns Supper for parents and friends, together with four invited guests from the community.

Kirn PS Burns Supper 2There were almost 60 guests altogether in the Dining Hall and they all enjoyed the programme of readings, recited poetry, Highland Dancing and especially the piping in of the Haggis by P7’s very own piper.

Kirn PS Burns Supper 3The Dining Hall was decorated with portraits of Robert Burns and tartan kilts and bunting which Primary 7 had worked hard on prior to the Supper and which really added to the Scottish atmosphere.

Mrs Marion Morrison of EnviroKirn commented later on how confidently the Kirn children had conducted themselves throughout the event, and how knowledgeable they were about Robert Burns. Then it was time for the ‘supper’ – a tasty plate of haggis, neeps and tatties prepared by the amazing Kirn Dinner Ladies.

Well done P7 and Miss McCabe for a superb afternoon!
