There was Christmas spirit aplenty at Kirn Primary School on Friday as the whole school and particularly Primary 6 pupils hosted the Annual Kirn Christmas Community Lunch.
Specially invited guests from the Kirn community were treated not only to the wonderful lunch prepared by Lynn Stirling and the incredible staff in the Kirn kitchen but to an even more wonderful Christmas Concert.
The children had been practising under the expert guidance of their Music teacher, Mrs Fiona MacLean, and their class teachers.
The concert featured songs from every class in the school, from the children in the Pre-5 Unit to the Primary 7 pupils, and every class performed beautifully. The concert finale was a combined effort from P3 to P7 who joined together to sing “White Christmas”
Lunch was then served by the Primary 6 pupils, who were also on hand to meet, greet and chat to the guests during the lunch. Crackers were pulled, and each guest left with a wee Christmas treat.
Head Teacher Mrs Barbara Gray said “We are very proud of our Primary 6 children who have led this special event. A big thank you should go to Miss Elaine McNee and the support staff at Kirn for co-ordinating this wonderful event. This is a great example of partnership working and of a school at the heart of the community.”
