Primaries 5, 6 and 7 spent the day at the medieval castle of Stirling to bring to life all their work on the Scottish Wars of Independence and Milestones in Scottish History.
Highlights of the trip were the Great Hall “where they dined and danced, and at night the servants slept there”. The Jester told a story about “changing mud into gold, and everyone was acting parts” and there were visits to the King’s Garden and the forest where the King would hunt.
Then everyone found out what people wore during the Wars, and during Mary Queen of Scots time and got to try on the clothes for themselves.
And the children’s verdict? “It was fun!, “great fun!”, “quite exciting” and “educational”. See for yourselves by looking at our pictures.
