The first public performance of St. Joseph’s Primary School’s new singing ensemble ‘St Joseph’s Dynamic Diamonds’ took place on Friday 13 December at Clyde View care home in Cardross. The recently formed ensemble practises each Tuesday under the excellent guidance and leadership of Mrs Helen Innes, one of our mums. Helen is a qualified Music Teacher and gives of her own time each Tuesday to practise with the children……..and on Friday it all paid off!
The residents and staff of Clyde View gathered in the main living room whilst the children sang a medley of Christmas Carols and songs. It was delightful to see and hear some of the residents join in with some of the old favourites. At the end of the performance, the children were delighted to mingle and meet their audience – an activity which thrilled the residents and staff! It was an uplifting experience for everyone involved, performers and audience alike. Head of centre Evelyn, then provided the children with well-earned treats as they sang ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ on leaving. So appreciative were the residents and staff that they asked the children not to leave. However, we were delighted that we have also been asked back to sing again next Christmas – an invitation we would love to fulfil.
I heard that they sang beautifully! I’m looking forward to hear them perform for the school.
It was amazing I loved it 🙂
