Values

The “Value of the Month” for February was “Love” and Primary 1a and Primary 6a led us in our learning about this value with their class assemblies. Their drama sketches, songs and stories all helped us to reflect on this value together. Thank you to all who participated in these assemblies. The “Value of the Month” for March is “Fairness”.

P4 Cluster Service – World Book Day

Primary 4 visited the Lanthorn Centre recently to take part in the P4 Cluster Service for World Book Day. Other schools taking part included Bankton, Dedridge and St Ninian’s and the service was led by Reverend Robin and the Chaplaincy Team. We showed our “I Love Reading” video and sang a lovely song. Some of us also took part in a presentation about the history of books. We really enjoyed sharing this special service with friends from other schools. Thanks to the Chaplaincy Team for organising!

Baby Cara visits Primary 4a

100_7027We had a visit from Baby Cara yesterday! Primary 4 have been learning about baby naming ceremonies in different religions as part of an RME topic and how to look after a baby as part of a Health and Wellbeing topic, so Baby Cara came in to class to help us with our learning. She came with her mum (Julie) and we asked lots of questions to find out more. We looked at photographs of her in the hospital and as she grew up, and we also looked at her baby clothes, toys and accessories. We had a great time and so did Baby Cara!

Scripture Union workshops in P7

P7 were visited by Gavin who worked with us on the value of tolerance through a Scripture Union workshop. We discussed what tolerance means to us and how it is a value that is important both at school, at home and in the wider community. We also explored how this value is found in the Bible through looking at some Christian stories. We worked together to share our ideas and listen to those of others. We are really looking forward to the Primary 5 assembly on this value!
