Well done to all of P5a for the huge effort they put in for our assembly on Friday. It was a huge success delivering a very important value to the school. It was also well received by our very very important visitors from India. Well done. Here is our power point. Equality and Imagine Pictures

P5 Solids, Liquids and Gasses
In Primary 5 we have been learning about Solids, Liquids and Gasses. We have carried out experiments to study them. So far we have created filters to clean water, made salt crystals and today we created our very own lava lamps. Oil and water have different densities and thus oil will sit above water. We use food colouring which mixes with the water to make a pretty colour. We then added alka seltzer tablets which react with the water to make a gas, which then rises up through the oil as bubbles.
Primary 5A at Sky Academy
Yesterday, the Primary 5a children had the opportunity to go to the sky academy where they learnt all about news reporting. They had to work in four teams to create a news report. They were each given a set job in there teams. There were producers, camera operators, editors, reporters, script writers, directors, an eyewitness and an expert. Our report was all about money and pocket money in particular. Once all the four teams had completed their work the clips were put together to create one news report, which was fantastic. The children showed great teamwork throughout and were very happy to each be given a memory stick with there film on to take home with them at the end of the day.
Williamston’s Handball Team
Today was the new Handball team’s first tournament. Great sportsmanship was shown by all and we won some of our matches. Particular mention must go to Alexander in scoring six goals, including a hat trick, and to Melissa for a super goal keeping display. Well done to all. Our next tournament will be at the end of November when the other squad members will have the opportunity to play.
