P1 (P1L and P1S) Art

Tuesday 12th May 2020

I can use my hands to create a piece of art.

Can you draw round your hands and use is to make a picture?  You can use your hand as many times as you want.  You can use any colours or materials you have in the house.  I love seeing your pictures so don’t forget to email them to the school office.

Primary 1 learning activities-Monday 11th May

Good morning, we hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. Our activities for you this week are slightly different. We would like you to spend this week working on a personal project to help you find out more about people who help us. Mrs McKay knows from past experience just how heavy the fire fighters uniform is!

People Who Help Us project

It would be great if you could share your learning with us by Friday, we look forward to seeing what you create.

Continue to investigate capacity and volume in maths:

PE-Try to get outside if you can or use one of our suggested sites. This term we would be preparing for sports day, trying to build up your fitness and stamina. We would also be helping you learn to skip. If you have a skipping rope see how many times you can skip without the rope catching on your body. You might find it tricky but keep trying. Let us know what your best score is by commenting on the blog.

Miss Mackay-are you up for a skipping challenge?!

P1 Home Learning 8th of May

Happy Friday! Well done for another week of home learning. Here is what we would like you to do today.

Literacy:
• Dictation (adult to read sentences for child to write down).
This cat has a nap on top of the bin.
Hens can sit on nests.
The bad cat sits in the bag.

Fairy Tale Friday:
• The Frog Prince

VE Day: Optional activities
Today is the 75th anniversary of victory in Europe during WW2. It is a difficult thing to talk about and explain to little ones so it is entirely up to you if you would like to say anything. I have attached a couple of activities that might be nice to do though. One is to decorate some bunting, it could be for VE Day, celebrating NHS and key workers whatever you would like. The other is to colour in and make their own spitfire. You can print the template out or make your own. I thought some of the kids may have seen Captain Tom’s flyby last week on TV.

Thank you again for all the amazing hard work that is happening at home. Mrs McKay and I have loved seeing pictures of the kids and reading your messages on the blog. We would also like to say again that we appreciate how difficult it can be to home school and for the kids (and us) to be motivated. Please do not worry if you don’t complete all of the tasks and if some days are harder than others. Every little bit will count.
Hoping you are all well and have a lovely weekend.
