On Tuesday, as well as listening to story “One Goose two Moose” we participated in the school book swap. Many of us had handed books in to swap and we all loved going to the book swap and brining one, two or three books home. Happy reading 📖.

On Wednesday we joined a whole school reading river. Our buddies joined us and helped us to read a story, the river was very long.

Primary 1 News

We started the week off in Primary one learning about Autumn 🍂 and talking about the signs of autumn.
To create autumn leaves 🍁 we used sponges to paint and create texture, after waiting on them drying we turned them into leaf self portraits.

After collecting materials outside we used them to make our names with nature.

Primary 1 had lots of fun harvesting vegetables from the school 🪏 garden. We spent time washing them to make sure all the dirt was off them then wee carefully used tools to peel and chop the vegetables. The boys and girls decided they would like to make soup with the vegetables so on Thursday we made soup 🥣, we all had the choice to eat the soup and we buttered some bread to go with it. Some of us didn’t want to eat it and some of us had two bowls 😋

Staying in the garden we planted bulbs for next spring, we had to be very careful that we planted them correctly so they can grow up to the sun in the springtime  🌼 We are looking forward to watching them grow.

Autumn 🍂 start in Primary 1

We are all doing very well in progressing through our sounds and are starting to blend sounds together to make words. The more we practice these the easier it will be to read and write. All children have been sent home with a set of sounds.
