Good Morning ! It was great to see your fantastic work yesterday and I know that lots of you took part in our virtual Sports Day Challenge. Today we are going to do some Numeracy and Literacy.
Numeracy – Our number of the day is 78 923
Starter – Look at the starter slide and complete as many of the questions as you can.
Task1 – Your task is to accurately add sums of money using the written method , a valuable skill when it comes to checking bills in the real world! Choose a mild, spicy or hot sheet to complete and challenge yourself to solving the money problems too! Remember to show all your working, layout your work neatly and upload to your PLB !
Literacy
Handwriting Choose your favourite poem or song and copy the words using your best cursive handwriting.
Alliteration
We are going to have some fun with language and learn about alliteration, it can make your words sound more engaging and entertaining. Look at the PowerPoint and perhaps try some of the tasks and examples. Next, carefully read Bleezer’s Ice Cream poem and use alliteration to describe each layer of the ice cream cone e.g Mustard Mango Melon Munch. You can use the word bank provided or make up your own. Remember all your words must start with the sane letter. Complete your work on the template provided or in your jotters. I can’t wait to see your finished work !
Have a fun morning!

Good morning P7, it’s to be pretty nice all week so don’t forget sunscreen when you are out for your daily exercise.
Here is today’s Literacy Work:
Reading comprehension today should take about an hour, there are three texts to read and a set of questions to answer on each of them. If you don’t have as much time today because you have high school transition to do, at least complete the third text and questions which are on White Fang. Do your best and I will post the answers to the questions this afternoon for you to see how you managed with a ‘test’ style comprehension task.
Tuesday Comprehension Questions
Today’s Numeracy Work:
For mental maths we continue with Big Maths Beat That. Try to improve on your score from yesterday. Post your scores/times to Your Personal Learning Blog.
WE continue our revision of Whole Numbers – this covers place value, ordering numbers, reading scales, rounding and the 4 number operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). There are 3 levels of choice but most of you should be working from Spicy so you will be ready for high school maths. Only try Mild if you find Spicy too hard and go for Hot if you usually go for more of a challenge.
Mild Complete Exercise 2 only Mild Whole Numbers-2
Spicy Complete Exercises 4- 7 Spicy Whole Numbers-2
Hot Complete Exercises 4 – 10 Hot Whole Numbers-2
Remember to post work to your Personal Learning Blog.
