Primary 6 Afternoon Post 26-05-20

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’ve had an enjoyable morning.

Our tasks this afternoon are Art and Virtual Sports’Day.  Mrs Lafferty has posted her activity for you all on the main school blog.  Please remember to email any photos or videos to the main school email address so Mrs Lafferty can include your score for your house points.

Our art task is looking at geometric shapes and creating a monochrome (one colour) picture.  Here are some examples:

You don’t need to use these shapes though, you can choose as complex or as simple a shape as you’d like.  It works really well in paint but coloured pencils or crayons will also give you an excellent effect, felt tip pens might be a bit harder unless you have lots of shades of the same colour.

This is another version you can try if you’d like a bit more of a challenge:

We’re looking forward to seeing all your creations – lots of photos please.

26.05.20 – P4B – AFTERNOON POST

Good afternoon boys and girls!

Well done to all the ones who have posted their work to their Personal Learning Blogs and have let me know about it. It is much appreciated!😃

For the afternoon, we have a beautiful RE task about The Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Task 1 – The Fruits of the Holy Spirit

First, you will need to watch the Powerpoint and after that you will have a worksheet with some questions to answer about it. As always, if you can’t print it, don’t worry and just write the answers in your jotters or, in case they have finished, in a piece of paper.

We are now in between two very special occasions for Catholic people and all the ones who believe in Jesus:

The Ascension of Jesus to Heaven, which was celebrated on the 21st of May, exactly 40 days after Easter Sunday, the day of his Resurrection,

and the day of the Pentecost, which will be celebrated on the 31st of May.

Because we are between the Ascension and the Pentecost, some people have been praying a NOVENA, which means a prayer that we pray for nine consecutive days and that, in this case, is different every day, from the day after the Ascension to the day before the Pentecost.

It might sound a bit strange that we say Fruits of the Holy Spirit because we know the Holy Spirit was not a tree!😃 But if you read the Powerpoint you will see it is very easy to understand why we call them that!😊

Here is the Powerpoint:

And here is the worksheet:

The-fruits-of-the-holy-spirit-activity-sheets-english_ver_2

After you finish this work, it would be really nice if you could draw the fruits with the 9 words in them as well! After all, life is so much sweeter with those fruits, isn’t it?

Good work and don’t forget the Virtual Sports activity for today!🤸‍♂️

P4a- Tuesday 26th May- Afternoon Activities

Good afternoon P4a. We have a beautiful RE task about The Fruits of the Holy Spirit to complete this afternoon.

It will look familiar as you have seen it before.

And here is the worksheet:
