I hope you have had the opportunity to enjoy the lovely sunny weather this weekend because it was really very nice!🌞🌞🌞 Hopefully it is going to continue throughout the week and we will be able to work and play when we are finished!😁
We are going to do some revision on how to tell the time, both in analogue and digital clocks, so I would really like to ask you to try your best and complete your work independently and without help so that I can check what we still need to look at regarding this, please.
You can find an information powerpoint here to help you remember.😃
Your main task today is to use your reading pages to work your way through these Bloom’s Reading Activities. We’ll complete a different aspect each week and it will help to build up your reading knowledge and understanding skills. this week it’s ‘Understanding’. This is a deeper look into a piece of writing asking you to interpret, summarise or explain things from the story.
This week, complete the two task which are highlighted and then choose 1 from the other 8 tasks on ‘Understanding’. You should be taking about 50 minutes to complete these to a high standard. Make sure you put in your title which section of the book you are currently working on.
This is an online audio book if you need a bit more support with the reading. There does seem to be a difference between the audio book’s chapters and the pdf so you need to try and see where those overlap. You log in using the ‘My Class Login’ button using these details:
Username: sjo primary 7 Password: White Fang Capital W and F and space between words – sometimes easier to copy and paste
Today’s Numeracy Work:
For mental maths we continue with Big Maths Beat That. Try to improve on your score each day or if you are finishing ALL 72 correctly, try and beat your time each day. Post your scores/times to Your Personal Learning Blog.
For the next few weeks we are going to complete some revision of work that we have covered over the course of the year. It will be a chance to make sure we are secure with different concepts before the move to high school and help refresh our memories of things we haven’t had a look at in a while.
Today we are looking at Decimals – this follows on nicely from whole numbers last week and we’ll look at place value with decimals, rounding and the 4 number operations – being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with decimals.
Good Morning everyone, I can’t believe we have reached the 1st of June already! I hope you are full of energy and ready for more learning tasks! Today we are going to do Writing and Maths.
Writing Normally at this time of year you would be presenting House Captain’s Speeches in the upper area, your task is to prepare a speech but present it to a family member! Look at the PowerPoint which gives you hints and details how to layout your speech. Try to think of three important qualities that would make you a good leader and include them in your speech. Complete the planning sheet before you start to write your speech properly. Remember it should have an introduction, three qualities(giving details of how you would use them in your leadership role) and a conclusion! Good luck and I can’t wait to see the finished articles uploaded to your PLB.
Maths Starter – Play a game of count down using the number 888 .
Use 100, 2, 3, 75, 1 and 10 to make the number. You can multiply, divide, subtract or add!
Look at the PowerPoint which studies bar charts, pie charts line graphs and pictograms. Today we are going to be learning to draw bar charts and complete them by using information given in a table. Choose a mild, spicy or hot activity to complete.
Good morning P6! I can’t believe that we are already in June! We would be starting to turn our focus to preparing for P7 if we were in school so some of the tasks that I set you might have this in mind. Here are today’s tasks:
Task 1 – Numeracy and Maths
Start up task: Take a look at the Daily Rigour problems and try to solve them!
If we were in school, we would be at the point of writing speeches to become the next Captain or Vice Captain of your house. I’d like you to do that today as your writing task. I really need as many of you as possible to upload or email your speech. I am going to speak to Mrs McKissack and see if we can come up with a way to allow you to share these with the people in your houses so that we can still go ahead and select new House and Vice Captains for the start of the new school year. I will share that information with you once I have it.
I have attached a powerpoint to give you some ideas about how to structure your speech and a planning template if you would like to use this to help you prepare.
Well done for making it to the end of week 1 of our Virtual Sports Fortnight.
Today’s challenge is going to be the bag for life sack race. You will need to make sure that you are being super careful today and have a little practice before you get started.
Remember to film your attempt at the challenge and send this to the school e-mail address but also fill out your score sheet to ensure that I am able to access all of your points for your house.
*IMPORTANT* Please DO NOT send your score sheet to the school e-mail until you have completed the challenge on Friday 5th June.
