Primary 1A Learning Highlights 3rd March 2023

We have been learning all about Fairtrade this week. We know what the Fairtrade symbol looks like and we drew our own symbols to display in the classroom.  On Friday, we learned about Fairtrade products and did an activity with our buddies where we had to draw Fairtrade items in a packed lunch box.

On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day with lots of different activities. We read Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book and completed a task on Seesaw to say why we liked a book from our class library. Every time the bell rang we had to ‘Drop Everything and Read’, we did very well but missed one bell as we were washing our hands for snack! Don’t worry we did an extra ERIC time in the afternoon. We also watched the first episode of the Masked Reader and we had to guess which member of staff it is.

Over the next week, we will be taking part in lots of activities to celebrate our school book week.  We did a draw along activity on Friday where we drew Greg from the book Dinosaur Juniors Happy Hatchday by Rob Biddulph. We had to listen very carefully to the instructions and everyone was impressed with our illustrations.

Some of our personal highlights this week are:

Oliver – I enjoyed playing with the cars.

Mohitha – I enjoyed playing with my friends.

Eve – I enjoyed doing the dinosaur drawing.

Lillian – I enjoyed doing the Fairtrade.

Summer Rose – I enjoyed writing with the buddies.

Tiya – I enjoyed drawing the dinosaur.

Aarav – I enjoyed reading the book with my buddies.

Miss Stebbing – I enjoyed doing the draw along to draw Greg the dinosaur. I was very proud of how everyone listened well and tried their best to draw.

Well done to Olga who is our hot chocolate winner this week.
