This week we have been learning all about our sense of sight. We had to find the differences between two pictures on the board, we were very good at finding them. Then Miss Stebbing had lots of different objects on the table, she took one away and we had to guess what one was missing. We were very confident with this. We also learned about eye tests and the role of an optometrist. We made our own glasses, which we loved. During Choosing Our Own Learning Time we were pretending to be Optometrists and asked if we could change the role play area to an Opticians which we did!
We have been learning all about the letter ‘s’ this week. We made the shape of the letter using stickers and they look fantastic! We wrote a sentence using our common words ‘I can see…’.
In maths, we have been learning about the numbers 8 and 9. We have been looking at different ways to represent these numbers and used a game to help us. We had to feed the shark different food and then answer a question about the ten frame. At the end the shark played the guitar and we all danced!
On Tuesday, we celebrated International Dot Day. This is all about being creative. We read a story and then made our own dots. We have put them up in the area along with ones from the other classes and it looks fantastic!
This week our Hot Chocolate Winner is someone who is always trying hard with their tasks and is a good friend to others. Well done!
Here are some of our personal highlights from this week:
Thomas – I enjoyed doing numbers.
Alan – I enjoyed making glasses.
Moses – I enjoyed doing ‘s’.
Maya – I enjoyed playing opticians.
Rio – I enjoyed learning about number 9.
