P6B weekly highlights w.c. 22.04.2024

Hello P6b pupils and families,

Here are some of the pupils’ highlights from this week:

  • They have been loving our new focus in P.E. which is athletics, where we have focused on speed and endurance running, agility and throwing. The class favourite has been throwing so far where we practised our javelin and shot put throw. We have been taking full advantage of the lovely weather for PE lessons, and football trials on Friday.
  • Inspired by the nice weather and spring arriving, we created daffodil/tulip art with oil pastels. The class also did World Earth Day art with Mrs Callaghan on Thursday
  • In maths, we have been collecting, representing and analysing data, and the pupils enjoyed creating their own spreadsheet of a variety of data and showed this in different graphs. We have begun learning about chance and uncertainty which has been a big hit too!
  • Pupils have been writing texts focusing on the recount genre, and self and peer assessing using the updated traffic light toolbox.
  • We also had a lovely Wednesday morning at mass.

I have loved the pupil-led lessons over the past two weeks where we have done origami, traditional dancing and learned about gaming!

We have had a super busy week making the most of the last term! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Miss Mushet 🙂
