P2B Week Beginning 1st May 2023

Hello P2B families!

Here are our highlights from the Blue Table:

Blair said he loved making a crown for the Coronation tea party we had.  The crowns looked amazing!  Well done everyone!  I think they were even nicer than King Charles’ actual crown!  I hope you enjoy wearing them when you watch this important moment in history on Saturday.

Evana liked dancing to the ‘Cha Cha Slide’ as part of our learning about ‘left and right’.  We know we can look at our hands to help us if we forget, as one hand’s thumb and forefinger make a ‘L’ shape.  ‘L’ for left.  We also know that our right hand is the one we bless ourselves with.

Safaa said the best part of her week was our Coronation tea party!  The kids enjoyed juice and cupcakes and of course, dancing.  Mrs Craig led the conga line!

Lilly liked making a prayer flower for Mary, the mother of Jesus.  We know that May is a special month when we think about and pray more to Mary.  The children wrote some beautiful things on their flowers, such as, “Mary, you are beautiful and kind” (Ishaan) and “I love you Mary.  You have the best son” (TJ).  The children are invited to bring a flower/flowers in for our May altar.

Olivia  said the best part of her week was learning a beautiful song about Mary.  Here is the link in case your child wanted to practise is at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPISwWu7IKA

Theo liked making rosary beads.  We know that decade means 10.  During the month of May, we will pray a decade of the rosary each day after lunch.  Your child will keep their beads in their school bag.

Mrs Devlin’s favourite part of the week was our writing lesson, using Time Sequence words.  We examined a recount called ‘Children’s Farm’.  We will continue to examine this story next week.  Mr McGurn, one of our P7 teachers, joined us for this lesson and was very impressed with all that the class could do.  He thinks they are definitely ready to move in to P3!
