Another busy week in P1B.  This week we have learned the sound u.  We also focused on revision and blending our learned sounds together to make words.  We matched pictures to the correct word and were able to write the word for pictures by sounding out the sounds and sliding them together.

We read a story about a fat cat on a mat.  In writing we wrote a sentence about the cat and continued to work on using a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop at the end of our sentence.

 

We have loved working on our Space Station and Space Rockets during ‘Choosing our Own Learning’.  We worked together and decorated them using foil and a variety of media.  We also made our own space helmets.  This week we learned about the planets.  We know there are eight planets in our Solar System.

We have loved using the craft and construction areas and creating amazing models and master pieces.

We have continued learning about subtraction.  We have used concrete materials to physically take away and we have also used a number line and jumped backwards.

We measured using our hands and cubes to see how long items were.

We have been working really hard on our Nativity Songs and we can’t wait for you all to hear them.
