P2B Week Beginning 23.11.20

P2B have had a super week!  We are very excited that Advent is starting on Sunday and the countdown to the birth of Jesus can begin (as well as a certain person coming in a red suit!).

Here are the highlights of our week:

Emily has loved learning about Weddings this week as part of our ‘Festivals and Celebrations’ topic.  She designed a beautiful wedding dress!

Paige enjoyed learning about Global Goals this week.  What a fantastic lesson we had this week introducing Global Goals!  The children looked at a picture of God’s beautiful world and then had a think about problems that existed in the world.  We made a very long list ranging from pollution in the sea to children not having enough food to eat.  We heard the VERY GOOD NEWS that by the time they are 16, in 10 years time, the hope is that these problems will no longer exist.  We heard that all the leaders in the world are working together to sort these problems out BUT they need our help.  We can be super heroes and help too!  We talked about what we can do to help.  Some ideas were to remember to recycle and put rubbish in the bin, send our old clothes to charity shops and to pray for the world.  We watched a video showing schools around the world and we were sad to see some children sitting on the ground with no nice pencils or paper to write with and no smartboard and no colour at all.  It made us grateful what we have.

Szymon liked Fun Friday today were he played with cubes.

Zac enjoyed looking at the Virtual Classroom and especially liked seeing the map that Markuss sent us and clicking on it to visit other parts of the world.  We visited Peru and Canada.

Mrs Devlin’s highlight was definitely the lesson on Global Goals.  We cheered so loud when we heard how by 2030 these goals may be achieved.  I think everyone in Livingston heard us!  It was heartening to see the children so enthusiastic about these important world issues.

Thank you to our two Lead Learners this week, Markuss and Zac.  Their target for us this week was to put our coat and shoes out in the cloakroom quicker but not to run.  We need to remember our school’s ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ rules and if we ran then we would not be safe.
