P3A Week Beginning 17th February

This week we have been learning about Fairtrade.  We are making a display for the area and we will put up a photograph when it is finished.  We did some chocolate tasting for maths and the 2 most popular bars were both Fairtrade.  We made graphs to show the results of our favourite chocolate.  We need to remember to look out for the Fairtrade logo when we are out shopping.  In maths we have been learning about subtraction with borrowing.  It has been challenging so our brains have definitely been stretched!  In literacy we learned about similes.  We need to listen or look for the words ‘as’ or ‘like’.  We made our own monsters and next week we will be describing them using similes.

Our learning highlights for this week are:

Emily – I loved when we were tasting the chocolate.

Joshua – I liked when we drew our own monsters.

Daisy – I learned about similes and it was fun.

Natalia – I liked making my own monster.

Josh – I like doing the subtraction.

Madiha – I liked when we were doing the monsters.

Edin – I liked when we were writing the similes so we can write about our monsters.

Myles – I liked when we were doing the monsters.

Ronan – I liked when we drew the monsters because it was fun.

Aoife – I liked learning what similes are and writing the similes.

Samyuktha – I liked to taste the chocolate because it was super fun.

Sam – I liked drawing the monsters.
