Reminder for all P3 P4 and P5 Titanic Cabins…….
………….all pupil cabin shoeboxes are due in on Monday 20/2/2017.
All the classes and the teachers are looking forward to seeing your designs -remember to look in your blue recycle bin for bits and bobs you can create furniture and accessories out of!
Good Luck we look forward to displaying all boxes in our Titanic Corridor..
Calling all P3 ,P4 and P5 remember to work on your cabins..
Everyone was given a homework challenge several weeks ago to create a Titanic Cabin in a shoebox! All pupils were given a box and have done research in class and their own passenger groups to discover what various cabins would have contained. Some pupils have already returned their challenges to school and they are looking amazing ! Mrs Gavin,Ms Robertson and Mrs C will be displaying all the cabins in our Titanic Corridor to let the school community share our learning…….
P4/5 will be looking at Safer Internet use this week….
Titanic Shoebox Homework Challenge for P3 P4 and P5!
Today every child in P3 P4 and P5 were given an empty shoebox to design a passenger cabin from the Titanic. They can use just about anything from recycled items /lego/bricks/items from around the house to recreate what their passenger cabin would have looked like in 1912. We are doing lots of research in school to help with this and the completed boxes are due back in school on Monday 20th February which gives the pupils lots of time to collect items they want to include inside their box-good luck and have fun!
Profiling week in P4/5 has been very busy….
We have been setting our Literacy and numeracy targets on post it notes to remind us what we need to improve on this term .We have been filming our targets using an app called Flipgrid so we can review our targets using the mini pads in class and therefore building our digital learning skills too in P4/5!
Google Expeditions App -It is Free!
The whole school were lucky enough to enjoy a Google Expeditions Workshop on Monday this week. If you like you can allow your child to install the Free Google Expditions App on their own device for use at home and school! Just search in the APP store….
P4/5 used the google glasses expedition today….
We thought using the digital technology to visit different parts of our world was amazing ! We visited Antartica ,the Arctic and then to warm up Mrs C and Mrs Gavin took us to Rio in Brazil! To finish we dropped in to the Titanic museum in Belfast as this is going to be our next topic in both P3/4 andP4/5!

AAL team to the rescue!
Mrs Conaghan was very kind to come into P2/3 class and read them a story about ‘Scaredy Squirrel’ on EPIC.
P2/3 loved the story and wanted to be able to use EPIC to find more stories about scaredy squirrel. Very kindly the AAL team from P4/5 came in to show us how to use EPIC on the ipads. They helped us to set up our profiles, choose what books we liked and how to read them.
