This week in P3/4
This week the children have enjoyed collaborating with P4/5 within topic, as we started work on our assembly. We have also started putting together some interesting facts to add to our class ‘museum’ for our visitors to find. This week we reported on the Titanic disaster by making newspaper reports. We also started to paint our disaster picture for display, they are coming along nicely. Primary 4 started learning the 6 times table. Primary 3 moved on to borrowing in subtraction, a bit tricky!
Well done to all the children in P3/4 who brought in cakes for our cake sale, we raised over £80.

This week in P3/4
Well done to the children who undertook the Sacrament of First Reconciliation, on Wednesday evening.
Olivia – I liked looking at the timeline of the Titanic disaster.
Alix – I enjoyed music.
Sophie – I enjoyed doing Yoga yesterday.
Lexi – I liked doing the division ‘step’ concept in maths.
Adrian – I liked doing Yoga.
Katie – I enjoyed doing the Go Noodle.
Tjay – I enjoyed making the certificates for display.
Daisy – I enjoyed doing PE with Mrs McAlpine.
Ellsie – I enjoyed colouring the awards for display.
Kyran – I was pleased that I undertook my Sacrament.
Well done P3/4!
P4/5 have been making lent promises…
A Snapshot of This Week’s Learning
Primary 1/2
P1/2 have been learning how to write sums quickly and have spent lots of time finding out facts about the sun and the moon.
Primary 2/3
P2/3 have been learning about place value in Maths, using hundreds, tens and units. They have also investigated the 7 new planets and even named them!
Primary 3/4
P3/4 have started to learn all about division. They have also learned how to write a newspaper report. They wrote about The Titanic.
Primary 4/5
In cook school, P4/5 have learned how to make Chinese Ginger Chicken and noodles. Evan S said it tasted amazing! Even though he doesn’t like soy sauce, he tried it. Well done!
Primary 5/6
In Grammar, P5/6 have been trying to improve their knowledge and understanding. In Maths, they have been working really hard on equivalent fractions.
Primary 6/7
P6/7 had the opportunity to talk to lots of different people in the community about their career as they attended the first part of this year’s Schools Conference. Their answers and pieces of advice really made everyone think about what their future career might be. In Numeracy, lots of hard work has taken place on equivalent fractions. Some number talks were fitted in as well! In Literacy, preparations are well under way for World Book Day, as everyone created a book for their buddy in P1.
Reminder for all P3 P4 and P5 Titanic Cabins…….
………….all pupil cabin shoeboxes are due in on Monday 20/2/2017.
All the classes and the teachers are looking forward to seeing your designs -remember to look in your blue recycle bin for bits and bobs you can create furniture and accessories out of!
Good Luck we look forward to displaying all boxes in our Titanic Corridor..

Thank you for a great turn out and to everyone who attended our Scottish Assembly yesterday. Well done to our Pupil Council and all those who did the recitals! It was a great wee afternoon. The only thing missing was the haggis – maybe next year we’ll get that sorted!!
