Saw P4/5 and P5/6 comparing retail prices from various supermarkets and using a budget. Mrs C’s and Mrs McAlpine’s maths sets also visited the Post office to explore what financial services it provides for the local community and finally we introduced a new board game called Money Minefield to our maths set using a digital disc to work out benefits a monthly income and how much we could save on our way around the board ! Macauley and Adrian managed their budgets the best !

We had lots of fun last week for Money Week. The three classes got together so learn from each and and have fun! Our main learning was to recognise and count up amounts – A HUGE thanks to our P4 leaders who done a super job in organising their groups.

This week our team are going to be running a stall aimed at the new P1 parents during Parents Night.

The team wanted to let new and existing parents play with some of our devices and find out how AAL can enhance their child’s learning with the use of technology here in Our Lady Of Lourdes….

We held a very open and balanced debate last week and listened to some thought provoking views from our young people as they face the  joys and challenges of living in perhaps an independent country or not this week. We had our own mock vote and this gave the pupils a better understanding of the political debate and the issues surrounding the vote on 18th September.

This week began with P5/6 design Birthday Crowns for Our Lady and discovering all the names she is known as around the global church community.

We watched GLOW TV and managed to get some inspiration for these silhouette pictures helped out by Miss Goldie.
