Champions in Schools by P5/6
We are looking forward to meeting James Millar a famous Judo team member. We have written some questions to ask him about his sport and his career. Katie Jane wants to know who inspired him. Lewis wants to know how James feels about taking part in this years Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
P6/7
Hi everybody. We are learning to use the school blog and put on new posts. We hope to have some fantastic photos on soon. We are meeting a Scottish Judo champion on Monday so we will take photos of that and put it on our blog. Miss Glencorse has set us a homework challenge of as many people as possible putting things on the blog so look out for our posts.

P6/7
Outdoor Learning
P1/2 were the first this term to experience Outdoor Learning with Miss Reilly. They all soon realised that you don’t need a classroom to learn, you can learn anywhere!
We focussed on Literacy and used carpet letters to find letters and put in order of the alphabet. Great team work and cooperation! We then used chalk and the playground as our writing area… what a huge area! So we wrote our alphabet out. P2’s challenge was to write it backwards… tricky! The last challenge for all was to write their name as big as they could… Lots of learning and fun was had!
Here’s the children’s feedback:
Brooke – “I liked the chalk writing the alphabet”.
Chloe – “We had to write our names big!”
Ellie – “The P2s had to write the alphabet backwards, it was tricky!”
Liam – “I liked when we had the challenge of writing our name big!”
Evan – “I loved it!”
Several weeks ago, P.4/5 was split into 5 groups and Mrs Doolan set them a challenge.
She said, ”Could you write, direct and film your own movie?” What a great opportunity to show off our talents and develop many different skills!!
Today we shared our films with each other, as well as our special guests, P.3/4. It was a fun celebration with drinks and popcorn. Awards were given for the following categories……… Best Film, Best Special Effects, Using Interesting Props and Costumes, Best Group Work, Best Storyline and Best Action Sequence.
It was so difficult to choose winners as everyone was brilliant. Take a look at some of our photographs from today.
P.4/5 Oscar Ceremony
Wednesday 19th February will be an exciting day for our class as all the hard work put into making our own films will be recognised with a celebration and presentation of awards!
Watch out for some celebrities walking around the school…which film will they have jumped out of?
It’s the run in to Easter
Hi Everybody. I hope you all had a great February break. Still no snow. Lots of hard work to be done between now and the Easter holidays. Looking forward to getting started, and of course, we have the long awaited school camp! It’s going to be all go. Let’s get busy!!
Happy Feast Day Everyone
Thanks to Father Haluka and all our local parishoners for joining us in our Feast Day Mass on Tuesday.
Our class have been following live events from the Webcam in the Grotto in Lourdes this morning as thousands of pilgrims celebrate the feast day there.
