Primary 2/3 were set a homework challenge … Could they make a rocket, spaceship or planet out of junk materials? The results were very impressive and the children loved showing them to the school at an assembly. Sean’s rocket was so huge it had to be brought into school in a van! All the pupils have been having fun going inside it and pretending to be astronauts. A big well done to all the pupils and thank you to family members for their support!

P2 Maths
Primary 2 have been busy learning about position and using words like forwards, backwards, left, right , above and below. We have been learning dance steps that needed us to think about left and right, using bee bots and directing a partner around mazes we created. Evie suggested we hid toys and challenged a partner to follow directions to find them which was great fun!

P2/3 Outdoor Learning this week!
P2/3 were out in the rain showers today for Outdoor Learning. Just shows that the rain doesn’t even stop the learning. One group wanted to use the giant space of the playground to create drawings to fit in with their ‘Space’ topic in class. All their work and their choice… I was amazed at the results!
Catholic Education Week
This week is Catholic Education Week and as Pope Francis has asked we are ‘Shining the Light of Faith’ in our lives.
On Friday we will have an assembly lead by some of our pupils.
Tell me how you have shone the light of faith this week. Have you helped someone? Have you said extra prayers? How did you show your love for someone else?
Judo Success
The pupils in P5/6 really enjoyed meeting a Commonwealth Games Athlete to day James Miller who is an expert a Judo. He shared some of his life goals and asked the pupils to set themselves a challenge over the next few weeks to become a Champion in school. The goal does not have to be sport related but must be achievable and be measured over the coming weeks. The pupils have been issued with booklets to help focus their goals and help and support will be provided here in school.
