Wearing our be safe be seen jackets….
P5/6 Assembly
P5/6 would like to thank everyone for their fantastic response to our plea for donations to West Lothian Food Bank. We hope everyone enjoyed our Year of Mercy Assembly and that its powerful message of forgiveness and generosity will be reflected in the way we behave and act towards others.
P6/7 Reflect on our Nurture Afternoon
Today, we spoke a lot about the benefits of our Nurture afternoon yesterday, when we spent time with members of our family and our staff watching a film. We discussed how us, our families and our school form a triangle and we’re always thinking of ways to help strengthen the bonds between all three parts of the triangle. We decided that the stronger these links are, the more successful learners we will become. Here are some quotes about what people in our class thought about yesterday:
“It really brought the school together and made everyone friendlier”
Macauley
“It brought our school community together”
Tiegan
“We learned about friendship”
Oliwier
“It gave us time to bond with our families”
Katie
“It showed us how similar we all are”
Coni
“It lets our families bond with our school and the staff”
Calvin
“It gave us time to relax and have fun with our families and our teachers”
Eilidh
Our Visit to the Cenotaph
P6/7 joined up with P4/5 this afternoon to visit our local War Memorial. We looked at the statue and at the poppy wreaths that had been left on Remembrance Sunday. We also paid our own respects and left our class memento beside the other wreaths. We had a one minute silence and said some prayers.
Lest We Forget!
Rememberance Day in P6/7
Our whole school took part in today’s two minute silence at 11 o’clock. P6/7 spent the morning listening to The Last Post, learning about why it is important to wear poppies and discussing the poem “In Flanders Fields”. We know how important it is to never forget what others gave up so we could be free. May they rest in peace.
