P4/5 Parachute fun for Health Week!

We all got lots of fresh air and exercise when P4/5 were out using the parachute this week. We got a lovely sunny day the first time but a bit wet the second time! It turns out that the parachute is NOT waterproof as we all decided to sit on it to make a mushroom shape and realised all had wet bottoms!! But great fun and really works the muscles on your arms! We also took time to write ‘Hearing Poems’ using WOW words to describe what we could hear… great writing from a

Thank you all! :-)

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all of you – staff and children for helping me survive turning old! I loved all the cards the classes made, all so different and personal. I am going to take time to read them all as it is lovely to hear all of your kind words. I really am a lucky teacher to work in such a kind and thoughtful school.

Thanks also to the staff who gave a little something too…much appreciated! 🙂

Outdoor Learning

P1/2 were the first this term to experience Outdoor Learning with Miss Reilly. They all soon realised that you don’t need a classroom to learn, you can learn anywhere!

We focussed on Literacy and used carpet letters to find letters and put in order of the alphabet. Great team work and cooperation! We then used chalk and the playground as our writing area… what a huge area! So we wrote our alphabet out. P2’s challenge was to write it backwards… tricky! The last challenge for all was to write their name as big as they could… Lots of learning and fun was had!

Here’s the children’s feedback:

Brooke –  “I liked the chalk writing the alphabet”.

Chloe – “We had to write our names big!”

Ellie – “The P2s had to write the alphabet backwards, it was tricky!”

Liam – “I liked when we had the challenge of writing our name big!”

Evan – “I loved it!”
