P6/7 were working collaboratively with P1/2 today. P1/2 have been reading a book called Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson and now we are working together to make paper dolls. The P6/7 buddies did a fantastic job of helping the infants colour their dolls and helping them decide on a new story ending. Next week, we’re going to cut out our dolls and use our buddy skills to help create and write new stories about them. We had a great time and showed how mature and helpful we can be when we work with our buddies. Look out for next week’s update!!

P6/7 looked at and discussed a power point about Dyslexia this afternoon. It told us about the difficulties children with dyslexic tendencies face when they are trying to learn and the strategies they can use to help them. We are an inclusive school in Our Lady of Lourdes and we believe it is important to support everyone so we have ordered the Dyslexia Awareness ribbons to wear.

Well done P7. We completed our Cycle Safety Course this morning. Everybody who took part passed all the elements and will receive their certificates at Assembly on Monday. Safer cyclists – great news!!!

Everybody made a great start to our bike safety week, as part of our Health Week. Tomorrow we’re on the roads!!

We have been learning how to play a 6 part piece of music on the glockenspiels. We have two videos to show you how impressive we sounded! Thank you Mrs Lang!

The next step to updating our visions and values is to ask all the children in the school what they think. Here is P6/7 making their choices. We look forward to see what the rest of the school pick!

In our class Kris said it was really hard to pick when it came down to the last two or three.

Tiegan said there were others she would have picked but run out of stickers.

Macauley felt it was hard to narrow down the choice because they were all important.

We are updating our visions and values for the school. We began by asking parents to pick their top 5 values when they came to Parent Appointments last week. This is how our boards looked after they had made their choices.
