P6 News Letter

p6 Champions in School :)
P6 will be taking part in their first Champions in School lesson this week and the boys and girls are very excited.
Champions in School is a programme which promotes succes through goals and achievements made by individuals in the class. This programme will be led by a local sports person who will tell the children about their own achievements and success through their career. The children will take part in activites and learn that through hard work and determination you can reach your dreams and goals.
The children will take part in 3 lessons, the first starting tomorrow 🙂
The children are very exciting and looking forward to meeting their champion.

Another fun week in P2…
This week in Primary 2 we…
* made our own castle to role play in!
* made fun Scottish kilts to celebrate Burns Night.
* built an interactive Maths wall with fun challanges and activities.

This week in Primary 2 we have been…
- learning about castles!
- we enjoyed opening a magical castle topic box.
- we have been doing yoga in the afternoons to refresh our bodies and brains!
- we had fun recording maths sums on special voice recorders to test our friends.

Murrayfield Primary School Uniform Orders
Murrayfield gym bags, hats, jackets and fleeces can now be ordered at the school office. These items can be purchased at the following cost;
Gym bags – £5.00
Hats (one size) – £6.00
Jackets ( sizes available – 3-4yrs, 5-6yrs, 7-8yrs, 9-10yrs, 11-12yrs, 13-14yrs) – £25.00
Fleeces (sizes available – 3-4yrs, 4-6yrs, 6-8yrs, 8-10yrs, 10-12yrs, 12-14yrs) – £10.00
A sample of these items can also be seen at the school office. Orders should be placed by 30th January.
What a ‘Star’!
Congratulations to Erica Dang in Primary 2. Â Both Erica and her Mum are stars of the Cbeebies programme My Story World War II Childhood.
Everyone at Murrayfield Primary is extremely proud of Erica. Â We will be showing Erica’s programme during our Assembly on Friday 16th January to celebrate her achievement.
P2’s Talent Show

We have been having FUN this week :
We have been making penguins, paper snowflakes, tree decorations.
We have been writing fabulous acrostic poems about Christmas themes.
We have had our great Christmas party with the Primary 2s – lots of dancing, party games and party food.
We watched a Christmas Movie  in the Hall – Mr Peabody & Sherman. We loved it.
We also watched a Panto performed by Bathgate Academy pupils with green goblins and a Princess. We thought it was amazing!
We won extra Golden Time today for the Best Improved class!!!! Yeah
Head Teachers Award winners today – Dean Burt, Lewis Millar and Mia Macleod
We have been practising very hard for our Church Service. Please come along to Blackburn Parish Church next Tuesday at 1.30pm and join us.
The Parents from todays Assembly wanted a special mention to the Jingle Bell rocker Ross Howard. See photo above – he was fab!
So good infact  he won a Head Teachers Award too.

P2 had great fun at our Christmas Party!
Primary 2 enjoyed dancing, playing party games, singing karaoke and a yummy party tea! There were lots of prizes to be won, Makayla and Ryan Scott won the prize for best dancers! What a great afternoon!
