P7/6 Show Art

The p7/6 class have been very busy this morning making beautiful flowers for the school show. We have also been making paper chain vines and massive leaves for the jungle display. Despite the weather, spirits are up and there are still lots of hard working, happy pupils in class today.

Here are some photos of their hard work.

**Rescheduled** Dounans Residential Parents Information Meeting

There will be a parent information session on Wednesday 7th March at 3.40pm.  This is an opportunity to hear a little more about this year’s residential activity week and to discuss any questions, queries or concerns you may have.  We hope you can make it along, however don’t worry if you can’t as you can contact the school directly to discuss any important issues.

Thank you to everyone who has returned their paperwork…not long now before you can head off for a fun packed week in Aberfoyle.

Relevant information has been passed onto the teachers and staff attending this year’s residential as well as Dounans to ensure that there is a shared awareness of any medical/ dietary requirements.

Remember all bedding is provided so there is no need to bring along sleeping bags, blankets etc…however a wee teddy bear might not go a miss!

Dounans have been in contact and have created an activity programme for the week so we have an idea of what types of activities will be available and can share this with you on 7th March.

**Parents/Carers….not long now until 5 days/4 nights of peace and quiet (or reduced noise levels if you still have a child(ren) at home!)

Mrs Waugh

Primary 5/4

Hello,
I hope you have all been out enjoying the snow at some point.

Just to let you know I have uploaded more activities onto Education City that you can try. There are a few activities I have included that you could challenge yourself with. These are in the homework section under three separate sections – Practice, Money and Time. The time section includes both times tables as well as being able to look at hours in a day. We will be moving onto learning about Time and Money in class over the next few weeks, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for you all to get some practice in of what you already know. The Practice section includes lots of activities to help you practice some of the things we have already been learning in class.

I know we have also sadly missed out in our Assembly today, however, I am sure we can reschedule this for another day. In the meant time, can you please keep practicing the song.

Fairtrade Song

We have neighbours who are hungry
far away, far away.
All of us can help them
earn a better living
Buy Fair Trade. Buy today.

Low paid farmers grow bananas
far away, far away.
Fair trade pays them better
helps them have clean water.
Buy Fair Trade. Buy today.

Skilful women, weaving, sewing
far away, far away
need to sell their baskets
woolly hats and bracelets.
Buy Fair trade. Buy today.

Hope you are all keeping yourselves safe and warm as well.

Miss Hanlon – who is currently snowed into her house.
