Good afternoon boys and girls,
I hope everyone has had the chance to look through their homework packs and looked at the homework grids on the blog. Remember that the grids are for the full term so you will have to search back to last week’s post or save the documents on your computer to access the grids for homework.
Today, you will have received your first Tricky Words list. Please keep this safe in your homework pack. Your first challenge is to try to read each of these words then see if you can spell each word too! Your word list should look something like this but it may have different words:
A note for parents and carers: Your child will receive a new spelling list in their homework jotter every 2 weeks. This means we will be spending more time on our spelling patterns in class.
Have a great afternoon!

P3/2 Homework Club: Term 1
Good morning everyone and welcome to P3/2’s homework club!
As some things are a little different this year, the way we do homework will be too! Today you will receive your homework club pack which will contain:
- A jotter for you to complete tasks at home
- A new spelling list each Monday
- A new reading book each Friday (Try to read your book by the following Friday)
- Your purple reading record
- A tricky word list to practise reading at home. You can even practise trying to spell these words too! (Please note that tricky word lists will be given out next Monday!)
We strongly encourage reading at home regularly however, other homework may be completed at a time and pace that suits you and the adult who supports you with homework. Each term I will upload a spelling, maths and topic grid with different tasks to the school blog: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/midcalderps/.
You can choose to complete these tasks in the homework jotter provided (You can use each of the tasks more than once too!) If you would then like me to look at any of your completed tasks, you may bring your homework jotter to school and I will have a look (Please remember that if you bring your jotter for me to look at/touch, it will need to have a 72 hour ‘rest’ in school before being returned to you).
Please make sure you bring your homework club pack with all its contents to school every day to keep safe in your tray. I know this is a lot of information so please keep this letter safe in your pack to remind you what to do. Any questions, then please ask and I can help you!
Good luck and enjoy P3/2’s new homework club!
Miss Clark
