Staffing update and other news
We are pleased to share with you that Mrs Thurlow will join us at Mid Calder Primary School as our Head teacher from Monday 11th June. Thank you very much to Mrs Brown, Head teacher at Kirknewton Primary, who has been here in the interim.
Mrs Kellner will begin her maternity leave at the start of June. We wish her well and look forward to her visiting in the new session with baby Kellner. Mrs Campbell will be leaving us in the summer and will be moving to another school within West Lothian. We are sure you join with us in wishing Mrs Campbell all the best in her new post and to thank her for all she has contributed to our school.
The children will meet their new teachers on Thursday 7th June and spend some time with them that day. We will send a Groupcall at the end of that day to let you know class teachers then. Thank you for your continued support, the Staff Team.

Sporting Success
Some Primary 7 pupils had a fantastic morning at the West Lothian Track and Field Championships, held at Craigswood Sports Centre. Brilliant effort by everyone and super support!

JYHS Transition reminder
- For pupils going to James Young High School from August 2018
Thursday 17th May – Health Day. Pupils should arrive at JYHS for 9.30am, dressed and ready in PE kit and suitable footwear. Outside jackets may be required as some activities will be outside. (It is preferable that they arrive dressed in PE kit, although there will be changing rooms available).
Pupils must all take a packed lunch as they will not be able to purchase food from the school dinner hall that day.
The event will end at 2.30pm.
Pupils should make their own way to and from JYHS.
EE2 forms should be completed and handed to Miss Smith (Mid Calder PS PSW) on arrival at JYHS. We will arrange for any medication to be at the school that day too and it will be back at Mid Calder PS on Friday morning.

PSA minutes May 2018
May the 4th be with you
Just a reminder that it’s the PSA Sci-Fi and Superhero Dress Down Day on Friday 4th May. Come to school in sci-fi or Superhero fancy dress (or in your ‘normal’ clothes if you prefer!) Please, no football tops.
£1 donation payable on the day.
