Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the holidays and we’ll see you back at school on Monday 11th April!
Scottish Castle Talks
This week P3a have been busy doing class talks. We were allowed to research a Scottish castle of our choice. We’ve been sharing a lot of interesting facts about the castles we chose to talk about.
Paige- I spent hours drawing my picture of Glamis Castle. It looks exactly like the real thing!
Jack- I made sure that I had pictures to show the class. I told the class when Blackness Castle was built.
Scott- I had a clear voice and enjoyed answering questions.
Skye- I spoke clearly to whole class. I found out that Blackness Castle has battlements and is made of stone.
Cole- I learned that Balmoral Castle is very special. I shared interesting facts with the class. I felt very proud of myself.
Dylan- I used good vocabulary. I showed the class photographs and drawing of Edinburgh Castle.

Travelling by Tuba
Yesterday ‘Travelling by Tuba’ visited our school. At the start of the day Chris and Stuart did a performance for us and showed us musical instruments from all over the world. All of us in p3, p4 and p5 had a workshops and learned how to play musical instruments. P3 learned to play a Spanish tune, P4 learned how to play Samba music and P5 learned to play a Mexican tune. I think we all felt really happy and nervous. My favourite part was when we got to perform because at half past two we all got to perform the music we had learned for the whole school.

Victorian Scrapbooks
We are making scrapbooks in P2. Victorians could not afford books so the Victorian made scrapbooks with pictures in them of things they liked. I made my scrapbook full of toys that I liked.

P3 Visit Edinburgh Castle
Both P3 classes went to Edinburgh Castle as part of their Scottish Castles topic. We enjoyed spotting all of the special features of castles that we had been learning about. Thankfully, the portcullis stayed up until after we had left! We were also glad that Mr Clark and Mrs Turnbull didn’t leave us behind in the dungeons! Here are some photos of the great time we had.
