All pupils have received a Snowy Day Activity Pack. They include a wide range of cross-curricular choices.
LANGUAGE
- Poster advertising a Christmas party for school children (include, the date, time, place, activities and drawings).
- Magazine collage
- A daily personal diary, including drawings to tell the story about your day.
- A ‘winter’ word bank cutting out words from newspapers and magazines.
- Active rainbow spelling of Christmas and Winter weather words.
- Write a poem about the snow or winter (use descriptive words).
- Do a comic strip story about Christmas.
MATHS
- Measure footprints.
- Make a snowman family and measure their heights.
- You have a budget of £1 to buy fruit and vegetables. Draw the fruit and vegetables and write down how much pence they cost.
- Practise all your 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables and ask someone in your family to test you on them.

- Go onto GregTang Maths (www.gregtangmath.com) and challenge yourself to each level.
ICT
- Go onto your Bug Club (www.activelearningprimary.co.uk) using your personal log in details read the books and do many activities.
- Take photographs.
- Make an animation telling the Christmas story.
- Do a film reporting about the Snow and weather news.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
- Build a snowman and/or a snowman family.
- Build an igloo with family and/or friends.
- Build a snow castle.
- Design and build a celebration cake with snow.
- Every snowflake is unique; design different snowflakes.
- Construct a model robot using re-cycled materials; this could be a toy-making robot (draw your design, label and give it a name).
CITIZENSHIP
- Help your Parents/Carers to clear your path to make is safe.
- Feed the birds nutritional bird food.
- Bake cakes or biscuits and offer them to your family and friends.
HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
- Go sledging and see how many times you can sledge before you are puffed out. Try to do more times the next day.
- Keep a diary of all the healthy food you eat.
- Do keep fit exercises, count each exercise and try to add more each day.
