P3 Viking Longboat

Primary three are studying Vikings.  As part of their technology work, they have made model Viking longboats.  This involved marking out and cutting the cardboard sail.  They also had to accurately cut and sand the wood for the hull and the mast.  They then had to cut very fine detail card for the head and tail of the dragon.  Finally, the hull and mast were painted brown.

Mr Price asked, “what do you think of the Viking longboats we made?”

  • “they looked cool.”
  • “they looked amazing.”

Mr Price then asked, “what was your favourite part when you were making it?”

  •  “the painting part because I like to paint.”
  •  “when we made the head and the tail.”

Next Mr Price asked, “what skills did you improve?”

  • “I improved my painting skills.”
  • “I improved my cutting small details.”

The class were so pleased with their work, they decided to put it on the school blog.
