Another busy, fun filled week in P1. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for the continued support during this term.

Our Star Writer in P1 this week is this superstar!
Writing a sentence independently using a word bank for tricky words!

We have been:

• Learning the ‘y’ sound
• Learning tricky words- of, or, much
• Weighing items to discover which are heavy and light
• Learning how a dentist can help us
• Learning colours in French

• about the island of South Ronaldsay and the “Tomb of the Eagles”
• about the phoneme ‘e e’ and words using the phoneme (like theme)
• about data handling and bar graphs

Our Star Writer this week in P1 is this superstar! Our star used a capital letter at the beginning of her sentences, full stop at the end, finger spaces in between and joined 2 short sentences together using a conjunction! Amazing job!

• Tricky words- with, so, us
• Using different materials when measuring
• How doctors help us
• All about the lives of St Joseph and St Patrick
• How to keep safe in an emergency situation

2021 is the “Year of Saint Joseph” and to celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, we will join in Holy Mass at 10am.  Children will also be able to “pay a pound to dress down”, with all monies raised going towards our Lenten Charity, Maggie’s.

Maggie’s is a charity providing free practical and emotional support and information for people living with cancer, and their family and friends.
