We have had a very busy week this week in Primary 1. We have been learning the v sound and how to add numbers within 10. We went on a school trip to the Science Centre and had an amazing time learning about forces and magnets. We also had a special homework project to reuse some of our recycling and create something new. We made some super robots and rocket ships and were very creative. We then used our talking and listening skills to share what we made with our friends. Thank you to all the parents that took the time to help.

School Traffic and Parking
This is a reminder that there are no parking facilities in and around the school. Parking in unauthorised areas presents a huge risk to our children and other pedestrians.

Science Week in P4
P4 have enjoyed a wide variety of activities during science week.
We started with a visit from the Glasgow Science Centre where we attended the Fossil Fuels Science Show. We then got to participate in a ‘Powering the Future’ workshop.
In class, we learned about helicopters and experimented with paper versions.
Later in the week, we explored SCRATCH, an online coding website, and created our own animations.
We like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to all our fantastic parents who came into class and shared information about their careers in the Science and Engineering Industries.
Mr Wards also brought in his 3D printer with some cool objects that had been 3D printed. Some even glowed in the dark!
Science Week in P1
Primary 1 enjoyed a wide variety of learning experiences during British Science Week.
On Monday we enjoyed a visit from the Glasgow Science Centre. They brought along their Fitness Lab so that we could learn about our amazing bodies.
We also had a visit from Mr Wards who brought in his 3D printer plus some cool objects that he’s printed. Some even glowed in the dark!
Mrs Thomson also brought in her Tesla car and told us about renewable energy and how cars can be more environmentally friendly.
Thanks also to all the Mums and Dads who came along and spoke to us about their careers in the Science and Engineering industries. You were all brilliant!!
Community Connections
Day 9
STEM Speakers
A big thank you to all the parent speakers who came into school to speak with our classes this week. We learned lots about different careers in STEM and had a fabulous time learning about sustainability, linking with West Lothian College, bridge construction, examining water under a microscope and learning about heavy construction projects. We have all had a fabulous science week!
Sustainable Superstars
As part of our Science week, classes had the opportunity to see inside a Tesla electric car. We explored some of the features which make these cars different, like looking in the ‘fronk’, examining the ‘plug’ and exploring some of the features inside the car. This linked in with our learning on sustainable energy which we did earlier in the week.
