Today the chicks returned to school and were over the moon to see P6W.
Xavier and Logan were tasked with looking after them this morning and did a great job. They cleaned out their bedding and gave them fresh water and a bowl of food.
We then gave the chicks a run around the class and weighed them.
They’re all now enjoying the peace and quiet and having a wee snooze.

The chicks were weighed again today and are all a few grams heavier.
They also got another wee run around the kitchen, although this time they were a lot more energetic. Several seemed to be trying to fly!!!
All the chicks are doing very well. They’ve been weighed and several have gained a few grams. I’m not surprised considering the amount of food that they are eating!!
Today as a wee treat they were allowed to explore the kitchen. Judging by the amount of poop on the floor I think they were very excited about having the extra space to run around.
(On the plus side, my kitchen floor has now been washed and is sparkling.)
The chicks have now got fresh bedding, fresh water and a full dish of food.

Good morning from Sunshine!
All chicks are now awake after a quiet night (thank goodness!)
Primary 2 enjoyed a (very safe) outdoor fire on Wednesday, where they roasted marshmallows and made popcorn. It was great fun and the sunny weather was definitely a bonus!
The baby chicks are now on their holidays. They’ll be back on Tuesday to spend the rest of the week with P6W.
We have been learning:
Connie and Samuel definitely used their imagination when writing stories about when toys come to life.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading them 🙂

Great news!
All ten of our baby chicks have now hatched.
Devil Chick, TFJ, Pennywise and Chicken-Cow have all arrived safely.
They are all now in the brooder box and have clean water, bedding and plenty of food for the night.
We also weighed our chicks for the first time and are keeping a record of their progress.
Morty is our heaviest chick, weighing in at a hefty 44g.
Goldie is on lightest chick, weighing in at a dainty 33g.
