We have been learning:

• about multiplication as repeated addition
• to use our sounds when reading and writing (especially, igh, y, i e, and o e)
• about geographical features of an island

We have been learning:

• to read and write words using the sound ‘o e’ (as in bone and home)
• to use a number line to help us add and take-away
• about geographical feature we might find on a map

P6/5 took part in a nature walk this afternoon and managed to find several different varieties of trees and a whole load of puddles!

 

 

We have been learning:

• to read and write words using the sound ‘i e’ (as in bike and like)
• to identify and name two digit numbers
• how to build a small outdoor shelter
• to perform a short song in front of an audience

P6/5 were tasked today with making a tic tac toe game using materials from the garden.

Well done boys and girls! You showed great teamwork and were very creative.

We have been learning:

• to use the sound ‘y’ (as in fly and sky) in our reading and writing
• to count in tens and use this to help when adding larger numbers
• to learn a new song ready for our ‘Burns’ performance

P6/5 tuned into the BBC this morning and joined Zoe Ball and several authors for a live lesson. We were given some great ideas and tips for writing our stories. We particularly enjoyed the writing tips from the authors.

We are excited to share the great news that we will be working with Kids Gone Wild from January to June 2020.    Staff and children will be working with their team to develop  our Outdoor Learning .   P7, P7/6 and P6/5 will be the first to take part in a session on January 8th.  Please bring old, warm and waterproof clothing for the session.   They will get dirty!

Our Lego Club children completed their final Christmas build today! With more than 50 different steps to build this model, it took time, effort, patience and a lot of team work. The children rotated roles each week and were very proud of their achievement.

As we prepare to welcome new members to the club in the New Year, the children will be taking on a brand new role as ‘Master Builders’. This will see them teach some of their peers the skills required to be a Lego Engineer, Supplier and Builder. And they are more than ready for the next challenge!
